Popcorn love to go – sweet recipe for the camping oven
Popcorn over the campfire or gas stove? Sure – but in the camping oven? Yes, it works! And surprisingly well with the RoadBaker. Whether for a cozy movie night in the van or a snack on the go – this recipe shows you how to easily make fresh popcorn right on the road.
📝 You need:
-
3 tbsp oil (e.g., canola or sunflower oil)
-
1 tbsp butter
-
3 tbsp popcorn corn
-
1 - 2 tbsp sugar
-
RoadBaker with glass lid and top baking rack
🔥 Here’s how step by step:
-
Heat butter & oil
Put the oil, butter, and sugar into the preheated RoadBaker and set it to medium heat. The butter should melt slowly without browning. -
Add popcorn corn
Once the butter is melted, add the corn kernels. Spread them evenly on the bottom of the oven. -
Insert RoadBaker rack
Now place the top baking rack of the RoadBaker. It prevents the popped kernels from flying into the chimney – brilliantly simple and effective. -
Watch & wait
Now the popcorn starts to dance! Thanks to the glass lid, you can see exactly when all the kernels have popped. It’s a lot of fun – almost like a movie through the window. -
Season & enjoy
When the popping stops, carefully take the RoadBaker off the heat and open it with an oven mitt. Sprinkle a pinch of salt on top – and your perfect camping snack is ready!
